About Beyond Fabrics

Beyond Fabrics was set up by Silvana Brasil and Eduardo Hirschfeld in 2005

Around 2003 Silvana has bought her first Sewing machine and made some simple cotton bags which were sold in her first market stall in Camden Lock, in London, a couple of years later Beyond Fabrics was set up and started designing jewellery and clocks, hand crafted cotton bags and other items as credit card holder, lavender bags, tea towels, aprons.

Beyond Fabrics have traded in most London Markets (Spitalfield, Brick Lane, Camden, Portobello…) and have their early designs sold in few shops including the Fashion and Textile Museum and the V&A.

The material used in the designs were imported from all over the world (patchwork cottons), with time their customers want to purchase the fabrics used in the designs as it was a novelty in London at that time, then they decided to build their stock of fabric and Patchwork and Sewing gadgets.

In 2009 they decided to open Beyond Fabrics Shop on Columbia Road Flower Market, in Shoreditch, East London, it was a successful 6 years, when they decided to close their doors to focus on their line of Patchwork and Quilt kits for beginners and today only trade on-line and at craft/quilt fairs around UK, for the past year Beyond Fabrics have been looking for new fabric designs and designers around the world, Beyond Fabrics is always on the lookout for gorgeous fabric designs, never being boring and always unique in their fabric selection and designs.
